4, 2008 Welcome Guests - If this is your first Sunday here at St. Mark’s, may you find a gracious welcome. Your questions are welcomed. Please note that there is music at the 10:15 am service only. Even if you might be here just for this day, may St. Mark’s feel like home to you. Today at St. Mark’s: From the desk of the interim rector, Mary Tudela: I am excited about being among you and look forward to a summer filled with blessings from the Spirit! I will be working two days a week and Sundays. My current plans are to be at church Wednesdays and Thursdays of most weeks as I manage the administrative needs of the church and support our staff. This is an opportunity to get to know Mary and to ask any question(s) you may have on your mind. Childcare is available each Sunday morning from 7:45 until 11:30 a.m. in the last classroom on the left in the upstairs hallway. The Altar Flowers are given this morning to the glory of God and in celebration of family by the Carson Greene family. Let us remember those celebrating their birthdays this week: Joan Bennett, Bill Hobbs, Lyle Corson, Marina Gibson, Dylan, Hunn, Roger Wilder, and Charles Cross; and those celebrating a wedding anniversary: Linda Saran & Roy Gibson, and Cleon & Clifford Nelson. St. Mark’s is greening up with permanent name tags, courtesy of Fred and Caroline Hille. To participate, please fill out the paper name tag, wear it and after the service attach it the tag board in the narthex. Next week you will have a new re-useable tag waiting for you. We wish to extend our great appreciation to Cliff Price, son of Betty Kilgore, for taking on this project of revamping the St. Mark’s web page. News about the newly named 7th rector of St. Mark’s is available on line. Looking Ahead: PENTECOAST is synonymous with red. SEE RED, WEAR RED. So next Sunday, May 11 we are hope all will wear some bright colors – such as RED – ORAGNE - or even WILD EYED YELLOW! Pentecost, Manhood/Womanhood Celebration: On May 11 the Rite 13 group will be leading the 10:15am worship service. They will preaching the sermon and reading the lessons. Be prepared to be amazed. The J2A High School Students will host the Annual Mother's Day Rose Sale! Pre-order today by completing the form on page 3 and placing it in the offering plate or return it to the parish office. So plan on joining us after the festivities of Pentecost & Manhood/Womanhood Celebration and Rose Sale for cake in Fellowship Hall. Board Members of The Bishops Associates cordially invite you to attend The Annual Spring Luncheon in honor of the Rt. Rev. Jeffrey Dean Lee, 12th Bishop of Chicago and the Rt. Rev. Victor A.
